This organisation, which has enjoyed continued success through growth of sales due to a successful management team and product range, has become a leading company within their business sector and looking recruit a Quality & Environmental Health and Safety Officer. 

As Quality & Environmental Health and Safety Officer, you will be responsible for assisting the business to drive forward operational effectiveness and efficiency through the use of Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety requirements, to educate the workforce to the positive aspects of the regulations and ensuring statutory obligations are met, whilst maintaining a safe working environment for their employees and fulfilling customer requirements. 

As Quality & Environmental Health and Safety Officer, your range of activities will include:
- Promote a continuous improvement culture through the use of QEHS systems
- Maintain the BRC system and ensure continuous adherence of the standard
- Carry out Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety audits
- Liaise with customers to successfully implement changes in specifications and investigate any customer complaints 
- Ensure hygiene standards are maintained and relevant to current requirements
- Carry out and/or organise relevant employee training programs
- Keep up to date with changes in law or legislation regarding quality and hygiene, environmental and health & safety
- Represent the company with vendors & customers meetings
- Ensure that quality standards are understood and maintained by the workforce
- Continuously assess employee Quality and H&S awareness
- Maintain effective employee relations
- Ensure the requirements of Health & Safety policy are understood and maintained
- Manage HACCP and Risk Assessment systems
- Oversee the company’s Health & Safety meetings and coordinate corrective actions required 
- Follow corporate/inter-company Health & Safety requirements and reporting activities

The ideal candidate for this position will be a Quality, Environment, Health and Safety professional from the food packaging / FMCG / Food manufacturing sector, possessing first-hand experience of maintaining QEHS and BRC systems and successfully running the system within a fast paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will also possess strong people skills able to influence the actions of others through a positive approach and communication skills, ideally educated to Diploma level or equivalent within Health and Safety.    

Salary for this role will be Circa £35,000 to £42,000 dependent upon skills sets and experience including pension, life assurance, annual performance bonus, plus a range of additional employee benefits and opportunity to receive training on the company employee development programme.
