This long established, market leading organisation involved with precision measurement equipment is looking to recruit a Workshop / Service Engineer to support a customer base of onshore and offshore sites, mainly involved within the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical producing countries located in Europe and further afield. 

As Service / Workshop Engineer, your duties will be varied which will be a combination of field and workshop based activities requiring an engineer with Electro-Mechanical skills, who is experienced with traveling to overseas locations and working alone on customer sites, pro-active and focused upon providing a high level of customer support associated with the provision of a premier product. 

It is anticipated the Service element of the position will account for 20 to 40% of your time and duties will include the following:
• Provide on-site support of equipment installation (mechanical and electrical)
• On-site service and breakdown support 
• Equipment calibration and commissioning 
• Write professional reports for customers and internal use

Whilst in the workshop the role will involve: 
• Customer telephone / email support,  use of IT systems to retrieve data
• Electrical and Mechanical fault diagnosis
• Electrical and Mechanical strip down and re-build
• Cable preparation
• Mechanical assembly
• New equipment build, test and calibration

Skills / Experience / Qualifications:
• Availability for frequent travel worldwide, sometimes at short notice.
• Full driving license
• Qualified to City & Guilds level 3 or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
• Multi-skilled, able to diagnose mechanical / electrical / control systems faults
• Be IT Literate / experience of using PLC’s for equipment diagnosis
• Familiarity of working with rotating / high speed equipment
• Strong verbal and written communication skills,
• Able to communicate at all levels within a customer’s organisation 
• Ability to write detailed service / commissioning reports

In return the company offer a competitive remuneration package including salary in the range of £27,000 to £30,000 + travel dispensation payments equivalent to £5000 to £9000 per annum (dependent upon extent of overseas travel), company bonus, mileage allowance and travel expenses, pension scheme, life assurance, 25 days holidays + Stats, etc.
